Fishnet QFTs: Integrability, periods and beyond

University of Southampton

14-18 July 2025

Registration form

This workshop is on "Fishnet Quantum Field Theories"", which are families of special models that attracted great recent interest due to their properties interconnecting various topics in mathematical physics in a simple yet rich way. These include, among others, integrability, holography, motivic periods, and Calabi-Yau varieties. This will be an event of interdisciplinary nature, and it will include review lectures to support the communication between researchers from different fields.

In particular the aim of this meeting is to bring together physicists and mathematicians who are interested in:

This year's workshop on this subject will be organised as a sister event to the "Integrability in Gauge and String Theory 2025" (IGST2025) conference to take place at King's College between 21-25 July. Link to the event page.

We gratefully acknowledge financial support from the European Research Council (ERC grant EXACTC), London Mathematical Society, and the Southampton Theory Astrophysics and Gravity Research Centre.

Directions

Within the UK: Southampton is served by two train stations, Southampton Central and Southampton Airport Parkway. Both are a short bus ride from the Highfield Campus using the lines U1A(irport) U1C(entre), but Southampton Airport Parkway is the preferable station when coming directly to the campus.

International Travel: You can travel to the UK by train, and then take a train from London Waterloo to Southampton. There are direct flights to Southampton from a number of cities in Europe with flight hubs where you can catch connecting flight to several destinations. If you are travelling to one of the London Airports, Southampton is linked to Heathrow with a coach (eg National Express) and to Gatwich by a direct train.

Local travel: The workshop accommodation is within walking distance to the Campus. If you need to use public transport, you can use the "Breeze" app for information on busses, e-scooters, e-bikes, and trains.

Directions to the Highfield Campus can be found on these University pages

Please refer to the EYC brochure for more details, and contact the Early Years Centre for booking enquiries.

Weekend suggestions

A number of participants will move on to the Integrability in Gauge and String Theory conference at King's College London that will take place the following week, and will be looking for ideas to spend a relaxing weekend to prepare for the conference. The local area offers several possibilities including The New Forest, The Solent and the Isle of Wight; and Winchester, the picturesque former capital of the Kingdom of Wessex. The Isle of Wight music festival will take place on 19-22 June.
